Art piece progress

I bought this art canvas over a year ago cause I wanted to try to paint my own art to hang above the couch in our old apartment. I wasn't really happy with the first painting I did so I added some gold to it. Back then it was ok, but earlier this year I redid the whole thing into a blue ang green thing. Not really sure what to call it. My 6 year old niece told me it looked like an island seen from above with a shark in the water. I guess that's one way to look at it.

Then we had to move and I just put it all away for a couple of months. Last week I finally found time to sit back down and redo the whole thing once again. And for the first time I am actually 100 % happy with the outcome.

I wanted to show you the four different paintings with pictures just so you could see what I am talking about. I am absolutely no artist but I have fun doing these kind of things. I feel more at peace and happy with myself.

The very first! Just blue doodles..

then I added some gold. Kinda looks like lightning..

Total change! Not really sure what this was supposed to be.

After we moved we had to hang it next to our dining table and chairs. Can you
spot the whale my niece was talking about?

Last but not least, my last project. I am superhappy with this one!

Spring and summer goodies

I went to Plantasjen yesterday to get some inspration for our porch. I came home with Flittig Lise(impatiens walleriana), sølvsvinblom (Senecio cineraria) and Pelargonia(pelargonium).  I love shopping for flowers, even it my wallet disagrees with me. I can't wait for the day we're gonna have our own house and garden where we can grow tons of beautiful flowers.

Beautiful succulents

To keep or not to keep - that is indeed the question

I love hydrangeas!

Look at all the prettiness..

Got some suucculents for the living room as well!

New In: pink roses

Fresh flowers are always a way to cheer me up! I know it might sound superficial when we almost every day hear about what's going on around the world, but it's the truth. Fresh flowers make me happy, I love watching them go from rose buds to opening up.

Book shelf organizing

I love looking at other peoples pictures of their book shelves! They all look so fun and elegant. A mix of books, flowers and decorations. The problem is that I never get a handle on our book shelf. It's only two feet wide and there's only two shelves, so you'd think it wasn't that hard, huh?

Let me tell you; I've struggled with this one for months now! I change the decorations. I take away the books. I put mugs and cute dishes there in stead. I try all white. I bring the books back out. I mix colors. Never happy with the way it looks. Maybe we should get a bigger one with more shelves, maybe that'll make it easier ;)

Living room tour

I am so so so excited to show you this post! I've been wanting to do it since we moved in February, but I wasn't pleased with how it looked until now.

We moved from a one bedroom apartment to a two bedroom apartment, which for us is amazing! On our old apartment we had our computer setups in the middle of the living roo. Not ideal. Now we have our own office! Finally! Our apartment is ca 60 m2. We have a small kitchen, a rather big bathroom, a bedroom, an office and a storage room. Plus our living room/dining room seen below.

We have a big gray couch that takes up most of the room. I am one of those who don't like gray in my interior, so how I ended up with a big gray couch is still a mystery to me. Actually, it was a really good deal that we couldn't pass up. While the couch is too big for our living room now, we wanted to keep it for a future house. And besided, we can both lay on it without even touching each other.

I am not sure why, but  I've never liked gray. I guess I think it looks lifeless and boring. Because of that, I decided to go with happy and bright colored pillow covers. To not overdo the colors I also added some white and beige colors into the mix.

We have to big windows behind the couch and one on the side. I love the ones behind til couch. Not so much the one of the side. I never know what to do with it. Do I hang uo curtains there? Do I decorate it? Still trying to figure it out.

Both these pillows are from jotex.

Our living room/dining room has an open solution. I wanted to have a dining room table because it's great for school work and crafts, but it also comes in handy when we have people over for dinner.

We bought the table and the chairs(I have 7 total, still looking for the eight one..) from a flea market. The table has room for 8 people. My mom and dad helped we reupholster the chairs last fall, and I love the dark blue color! So elegant but still chic.

We needed to have our TV somewhere in the living room, and because we didn't have room for a tv bench we decided to hang it on the wall. I do like that it doesn't take up much room, but I just wish we could hide it when we don't use it. And it messes up my pictures. Ha-ha!

Here's my homemade art piece! We had this art canvas above the couch in our earlier apartment, but because of the windows and the TV there wasn't much space left. So that's how it ended up here. I actually really like it.

The lamp is from Clas Ohlson, and I love how the brass color make the spacelook warmer and cozier.

We got this display cabinet from my parents when we moved into our old apartment. While I was growing up my mom and dad had it on their living room, but they didn't want it anymore. My dad painted it white for us and now we have it. We keep our wine glasses and pretty dishes in it. If you look closely you can see my two other art peices hanging next to the window in the back.

Thank you so much for reading this post and I hope you liked it as much as I did!

Art piece

I've always loved being creative. Everything from making scrapbooks, birthday cards to paintings. As I've mentioned before, I bought a big white canvas last year. I tried painting it a couple of times but I was never satisfied with the way it looked. Last week I picked up the brush again and this time I really liked what came out of it. Blue and green with some pink and yellow roses.

New in: antique lamp from the flea market

I went to a flea market at Åsenhagen School last weekend and came home with this lamp. It's old, but I have no idea when it was made.

I love the gradient blue color of it! I'm keeping it in our bedroom and it goes really well with the other stuff we have on top of our dresser. I love having blues in our bedroom. Did you know blue is supposed to be a calming and relaxing color?

I love how these two pieces fit perfectly with the lamp!

Isn't it so cute?!
