Reupholstering our dining room chairs

We bought our dining room table and chairs in May with the intetntion to paint and reupholster all of the chairs. I asked my mom and dad to help me out, because I wasn't 100 % sure how to do it, and we don't have to right tools do it either.

My mom and dad came over on Tuesday this week, and we got to work. First we went down to Lillestrøm Systue to pick out the fabric and foam rubber. We had decieded that we wanted blue fabric, and I went with this dark blue one. When we got back to our apartment we had to cut out foam rubber and fabric to match the chairs. We have seven chairs, and only two are exactly the same. Some of them had old covers that we had to remove, some didn't have anything.

Four hours down to road we had finished all of the chairs, and it looked so much better! I love the fabric and I think it looks great with everything else we have in our apartment. Now I just want some blue curtains to match the chairs. Here's some pictures from the process:

Things are happening!

Starting to look good!

Voila! We're done with the first one, only six more to go!

Four of the chairs are done!

One big happy family! Doesn't it look so good?

Monday morning

Life is crazy these days. We're both so busy with school, and then comes work, family and all the other stuff too. It's all good though, we're both doing something we really like and love! This thursday I have my second presentation this fall, and I'm ready! I love giving presentations at school. Don't know why, just do.

Last week I had major problems with my computer, and had no other choice than to get a new 2T hard drive. Luckily we got to save all my documents and pictures before the old hard drive said goodbye. Let me tell you, I was so nerous I was gonna loose everything (again..)!

It's no secret I love flowers, and I've had these pictures of some beautiful red roses just sitting in an album waiting to be published on my blog. The pictures are from earlier this summer, but roses are just as beautiful during the fall as the summer.

Happy monday!

Pink roses

The one thing I change more than any other is how our coffee table looks. It's so easy so move some stuff around and suddenly you have a whole new living room(kind of)!

I found this beautiful tray at a flea market where my parents live in June. The brand is Scandiaguld.

The marble candle holders are from the swedish store Dollarstore

I love this candle holder! I bought it this spring at one of the biggest flea markets in our area
This cute little jar and the blue flower vase is from the local flea market

Livingroom Look

You have to agree these flowers are beautiful, right? This is how our livingroom looked earlier this summer when we had tons of fresh flowers here in our apartment. As I've told you before.. I love fresh flowers! Nothing can brighten up a room like a bouquet of flowers!

This bouquet reminds me of summer. All the different flowers with their own unique color arranged together so beautifully. And let's not forget to talk about the gold details! I really like the combo of gold details and beautiful colored flowers.

The whole month of July and the first ten days of August was such a crappy month weather like, but this week the sun was finally out shining again! Sun, please stay a little longer. I'm not ready for fall just yet.

The two tall candle holders in the back are from Skeidar

The vase that holds the beautiful bouquet is from a flea marked

The golden tray is from H&M

These two candle holders are from Åhlens

The glass bowl with a stem was a christmas present from my grandparents

This book is called "14 000 things to be happy about", and it's literally a list of 14 000 things that can make you happy

Fresh Flowers In Our Bedroom

A couple of weeks ago our landlord was leaving for a vacation and they asked if we wanted to have all the fresh flowers they had in their home. If we didn't want them they had to throw them away. I ran up stairs and got not less than four(!!) bouquets of flowers.

I decided to put one of them in our bedroom, cause who doesn't like waking up to the fresh flowers on their dresser? The bouquets were amaxing. There were roses and carnations, along with many other types of flowers. I also got one bouquets of lillies! And some hydrangeas that I placed in some small vases around the apartment. I'll show you pictures of them later.

Long Time, No See

Hope you all had a good summer so far! It's been a couple of months since I last posted anything here. My inspiration has been on a steady down hill curve, but it's all better now!

I've got some crazy exciting news to share with you! I'm starting school to become an interior designer! School starts Mondag Augst 10th, and I am so excited. I'm gonna be studying at NKH(stands for Norges Kreative Høgskole) in Oslo(Norway, Europe). I can't wait to school starts I get to learn more about interior and home decor and everything there's to know when you help someone plan a house!

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truely satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. The only way to do great work is to love what you do" - Steve Jobs

Some of the beautiful fresh flowers we've had in our apartment the last couple of months!

PS: This is one of my all-time favorite scented candles. It smells so good! Voluspa are expensive candles, but they last forever because you don't have to lit them for very long to have the smell all around your house.

Pink Peonies

One of my favorite flower sduring summer is defenitely peonies! Have you seen anything more beautiful!? I love the subtle pink color, and they go great with our gray couch. I love to combine pink and gold/brass, I think it's one of the most gorgeous combos you can have in a home. My boyfriend is not a big fan of pink though, so I only have small pieces of pink here and there.

Soak in the beauty of these peonies in the pictures below!
